What's happening at your church?

Here's What's Happening At The Journey:

Love Only Series

LOVE ONLY is the series that we have begun at The Journey. Each message is intended to raise some questions, and in the end help us on a search for answers!

It's time to dig deeper in our Bibles and search for the truth about the relationship between Love, and Obedience, which comes first, and is one more important than the other? Can you have one without the other?

Our Bible Study class, affectionately known as, "Sabbath School", begins at 10:00 a.m. and goes to 11:00.

We have a break, and then our service starts at 11:30 a.m.

Mark and Lise, Robin and B.J., Audrey, and other special guests will share their gift of music with us and lead us in the music portion or our worship, then we continue our worship service with the message series: "Love Only!"

Join us as we search the scriptures, and spread the word, bring a friend! You won't want to miss this series! If you cannot join us at The Journey, please know that you can watch us LIVE!  Just click here!  Blessings to you!

Never forget this truth in the Bible:

"God will never leave you, nor will He forsake you!"

Be Blessed and Happy Sabbath.

This Saturday, At The Journey: "Meekness Or Weakness?"
August 05, 2017

"Meekness Or Weakness?"

Based On:   Matthew 5   Galatians 5:2-3   John 3:16  1John 4

Lucifer loved himself more than he loved God.  He tried his best to confuse us,
to make us do the same thing, love ourselves more than God.

And then Jesus came to this earth and did something miraculous.

He showed us what Real Love looks like: what it looked like to Love God. He showed us what it looked like to love others. He showed us what it looked like to truly love ourselves. Then He sat down on the side of a hill and began to teach us what it was to truly live in the blessing and knowledge that God, that His Father, Loved, and Loves us!

Everything He did, was based on Love. Love for His Father. Love for you, and me!

Consider this:
Pastor Mark"Can we really 'do all things' because Christ give us strength?"

It's a good question! So good in fact, it may be one of the reasons Christ was so misunderstood! The people of Israel were looking for a King. However, they weren't looking for a King who would "Love" them to freedom, "Love" them to a new life! They were looking for power, and justice for all the wrong that had been done to them by Rome, by Babylon, and every other conqueror they could think of. Every one except Lucifer. Every one except themselves. They missed it! And yet...

"Blessed are the meek. For they shall inherit the earth." What a contradiction! How in the world could they possibly inherit the earth being "meek"?

The original word in the Greek language is: "πραΰς, πραεῖα, πραΰ". If we spelled it like it sounded we would spell it like this: praus,  pronounced, "pra-ooce."

The Greek root, "pra" means something a bit more than just our common understanding of the word, "meek".  Biblical "meekness" is not, "weakness", rather refers to exercising God's Strength, under His Control.  An example would be: "demonstrating power without undue harshness." Our English term, "meek", often lacks this blend of gentleness (reserve) and strength!

How does this all fit?  Watch us LIVE to find out!

But, If You Can't...
Consider the following 3 passages of scripture and compare them to the life of Christ!
Galatians 5:2-3, Romans 8 (yes, all of it) and Philippians 4:13.
Ask yourself, was Christ meek? Was He weak? Did He execise His Father's Strength? Was He under His Father's Control? Galatians 5:2-3 simply tells us what God can do for us through the transforming power of The Holy Spirit! He can move beyond the barriers of the law and make us like Christ!

And that "earth" we inherit? Watch us LIVE to find out!

We have a Bible study that starts at 10:30. Afterwards, we'll have a short break, and then our service starts at 11:40 a.m.  We broadcast the 2nd portion of our service, the praise music that comes just before the sermon.

Pastor Mark and Lisè Matthews will bring us the gift of music, and will lead us in our worship, then we continue our service as Pastor Mark will bring us the message: "Meekness Or Weaknes?" "You are blessed when you are living under God's power, and His control in your life! It isn't this world you're after! The Best Is Yet To Come!" (GAB)

Join us as we search the scriptures for light and hope on the subject of "Love Only!" Spread the word, and bring a friend! You won't want to miss this series! If you cannot join us at The Journey, please know that you can watch us LIVE!  Just click here!  Blessings to you!

From Spectrum Magazine - October 14, 2013:

"
The Broomfield Enterprise, the local paper for one of Denver's suburbs, published a piece about the wonderful welcome offered by The Journey - a local Seventh-day Adventist congregation. Local religion columnist George McHendry called it "one of the best-kept church secrets in my years of writing this column."

Adventists get different kinds of media attention, from health news to news about evangelistic campaigns to legal battles. This was a unusually nice review of a church being a church - in a less traditional setting.
