What's happening at your church?

Here's What's Happening At The Journey:

Love Only Series

LOVE ONLY is the series that we have begun at The Journey. Each message is intended to raise some questions, and in the end help us on a search for answers!

It's time to dig deeper in our Bibles and search for the truth about the relationship between Love, and Obedience, which comes first, and is one more important than the other? Can you have one without the other?

Our Bible Study class, affectionately known as, "Sabbath School", begins at 10:00 a.m. and goes to 11:00.

We have a break, and then our service starts at 11:30 a.m.

Mark and Lise, Robin and B.J., Audrey, and other special guests will share their gift of music with us and lead us in the music portion or our worship, then we continue our worship service with the message series: "Love Only!"

Join us as we search the scriptures, and spread the word, bring a friend! You won't want to miss this series! If you cannot join us at The Journey, please know that you can watch us LIVE!  Just click here!  Blessings to you!

Never forget this truth in the Bible:

"God will never leave you, nor will He forsake you!"

Be Blessed and Happy Sabbath.

This Saturday, At The Journey: "Consolation Prize!"
July 22, 2017

"Consolation Prize!"

Based On:   Matthew 5   John 3:16  1John 4

Lucifer loved himself more than he loved God.

And then Jesus came to this earth and did something miraculous.

He showed us what Real Love looks like: what it looked like to Love God. He showed us what it looked like to love others. He showed us what it looked like to truly love ourselves. Then He sat down on the side of a hill and began to teach us what it was to truly live in the blessing and knowledge that God, that His Father, Loved, and Loves us!

Not ONE time did Jesus mention the word church, or what the TRUE church looked like!

Consider this:
Pastor Mark"We can talk about being a church, or we can BE a church!"

The church is made up of you and me. Certainly the church has leaders. Certainly He spoke to Peter and talk to him about building a church and having Peter be an instrumental part in its beginning! However, at the "Sermon on The Mount", Jesus spoke to the people about what it meant to be blessed by the Love of His Father, and by bringing comfort to one another! The greatest responsibility of God's church is to build each other up in the Love of The Father! "Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted."

"Parakaleo". "I call", "consolation (comfort) given not in words, but by the experience of a happier lot or by a happier issue - equivalent to, 'to refresh' ". That is what the actual Greek word for, "comfort", is used in this context and in this passage.  What would the church of God look like, if THIS was our primary exterior, if THIS was what we were "known" for? A church of deeds, not talk. A church of compationate action, not feel good phrases.

Perhaps this is what we strive for!

We'll have a short break, and then our service starts at 11:40 a.m.

Pastor Mark and Lisè Matthews will bring us the gift of music, and will lead us in our worship, then we continue our service as Pastor Mark will bring us the message: "Consolation Prize!"

Join us as we search the scriptures for light and hope on the subject of "Love Only!" Spread the word, and bring a friend! You won't want to miss this series! If you cannot join us at The Journey, please know that you can watch us LIVE!  Just click here!  Blessings to you!

The Journey is featured in Spectrum Magazine!

From Spectrum Magazine - October 14, 2013:

"
The Broomfield Enterprise, the local paper for one of Denver's suburbs, published a piece about the wonderful welcome offered by The Journey - a local Seventh-day Adventist congregation. Local religion columnist George McHendry called it "one of the best-kept church secrets in my years of writing this column."

Adventists get different kinds of media attention, from health news to news about evangelistic campaigns to legal battles. This was a unusually nice review of a church being a church - in a less traditional setting.
